FairSources is joint venture between the Fair Trade Jewellery Company (Canada) and S&P Trading (Gold by Gold group — France).  Both companies were first in their respective markets to offer Fairtrade certified gold which was launched on February 14th, 2011.  At that time the metal carried a dual certification from both the Fairtrade Labelling Organization (FLO) and the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM).

As of 2013, Fairmined and Fairtrade are now separate certifications, each with it's own licensing arrangements and marking requirements, but both maintaining the same ethical, environmental and social standards that were in place from 2011-2013.  Even the premium paid to the miners (10% over market rates) is consistent for both Fairtrade and Fairmined metals.

FairSources was founded to help expand the market for certified ethical metals from artisanal miners by being the first company to offer Fairmined certified gold in North America.

For small jewellers, FairSources offers casting grain as well as a growing selection of finished jewellery products.

For chains and brandholders, FairSources offers both casting grain as well as contract manufacturing for your company's house designs as well as white label manufacturing of our house designs for your company.
